How Yah Doon, Dean?

I hate beautiful people

by Dean K Farrow

I hate beautiful people
I hate the clothes they wear
The way they wear their hair
I hate their beautiful smiles
Their beautiful looks
Those horrid sporty cars
The way they seem not to drive them
I hate the way beautiful people are always seen
With other beautiful people
Never in pubs
But in hotels, taverns and clubs
They are always on display
On parade
In circles that revolve around their circles
They don’t talk
They squawk
Chitter chatter splitter splatter
To say nothing of the way they walk
Yes I hate beautiful people
And beautiful people hate me

Jean Farlow (if that's what your real name is) - you have become a bitter twisted poet since moving to London. Why can you not enjoy celebrity, beauty and vanity for what it is - something to be celebrated.

I find the self loathing demonstrated in the work "I Hate Beautiful People" is quite disturbing. I would suggest to the writer that, at some stage during our brief moment in this known world, we all have to face the truth.

It comes through loud and clear in the poem that the writer is in fact a "beautiful" person struggling with his/her self identity and crying out for acceptance.
